Allen Music Studio
I teach private lessons to children and adults who desire to develop or strengthen their music abilities, whether in playing piano, singing, ear-training, and/or music theory. Lessons are taught in my home studio, which is professionally appointed and equipped to assist us in working on all aspects of your music education.
All lessons are taught in the traditional, classical style. Piano instruction involves learning to read music, play the piano or keyboard, and learning the theory and piano music markings that direct the pianist in how to interpret the music.
In voice lessons, I concentrate on breathing, proper use of the vocal chords, intonation, and musicianship. This frequently involves working on ear-training and sight-singing techniques. Vocal instruction is done with the student singing in a variety of languages.

My Experience
I have a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Sam Houston State University, where I studied under the late Beverly H. Henson. I have sung with the Sam Houston State University Chorale, Bering United Methodist Church Choir, and Houston Symphony Chorus.
I have taught children and adults piano, voice, music theory, ear-training, and general music. Feedback I have received from students includes:
